This 5-day tour will take in the major sites of the D-Day beach landings in France and give us chance to explore the history of the second World War.

With a maximum of 15 guests, you will have a truly personalised trip, getting the most from your own personal guide and meeting others that are passionate about World War 2 remembrance.

Hello, I am Andy Oliver, your guide.

I am now retired from 22 years in the military service which took me around the world and the battlefields of the Western Front and Far East.

I have studied, toured, and guided on the Western Front battlefields for the last few years since retiring from the Armed Forces. I have built up an extensive knowledge of the Great War and I look forward to sharing it with you.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1 - Meet and greet and overnight ferry over to Ouistreham

  • Meet up at convenient location for you as we make our way down to Brittany Ferries terminal in Portsmouth
  • Check into the Brittany Ferries, Portsmouth for the overnight ferry to Ouistreham

Day 2 - Britain’s D-Day: Pegasus Bridge & British & Canadian Beaches

  • After breakfast on the ferry, we make our way to Pegasus Bridge to hear about the glider landings and the taking of the bridge
  • We visit the beach landings of Sword beach were the BR 3rd Infantry Division landed
  • Take in the beach landings of Juno beach were the Canadian 3rd Division landed
  • We then head to the beach landings of Gold beach and take in the new British Normandy Memorial and were the BR 50th Infantry Division landed
  • We finish off the day visiting the D-Day Museum in Arromanches
  • Check into the hotel Mercure at Omaha Beach for a one-night stay

Day 3 - America’s D-Day: American Beaches & American Airborne

  • After a good breakfast we make our way to Normandy American Cemetery for the American fallen
  • Visit the American beach landings of Omaha beach and the museum at Omaha beach
  • We visit Point du Hoc where the American Rangers scaled the cliff face before engaging the enemy then we move to the Maisy Battery which another objective on D-Day
  • Head to the American beach landings of Utah beach, before heading on to the small town of Sainte – Mere – Eglise, location to the American Airborne landings
  • We finish off the day making our way up to Brittany Ferries terminal in Cherbourg
  • Check into the Brittany Ferries, Cherbourg for the overnight ferry to Poole

Day 4 - Make our way to the National Memorial Arboretum

  • After breakfast on the ferry, we make our way to Staffordshire and visit the National Memorial Arboretum for the afternoon
  • Check into the Chase Golf & Country Club near Cannock for a one-night stay

Day 5 - Drop off and return home

  • After a good breakfast we make our way back towards home
  • Drop off at convenient location for you as we make our way up Hull
